JAMES CHAPTER 5
To study essentially means to devote time, to give attention to or investigate in detail a particular subject.
God's desire is for us to understand and live by the words He has given us through His sons and daughter people that were just like us, who were tested, had frustrations, went through being persecuted and lived a life that was imperfect teaching us that if we seek after the things of God we can be blessed as they were. Chapter 5 in the book of James starts speaking to the rich, did you notice how much in these scriptures there was refernce to the rich and poor. The desires of the rich does not reflect the heart or nature of God because their desire is to increase their riches and to rob and steal from even the innocent.
For me the topic on patience has been fitting for the season I am in, we are such a microwave generation, impossible to please. We want instant results that can give us a lifetime of heartache and pain, but we are unable to see the end when we are praying for the things we desire. I personally found myself complaining as a conversation starter, that is so crazy. What we are complaining about is what God gave us; today it rains that is a problem, it is sunny it is too hot, when it is cool it is too cold but we are not able to change weather conditions although I know somewhere there is a scientist trying. God has made provision for each of us but we complain. We are also reminded in this chapter to let our yes be our yes and no be our no; without any need to swear. If there is anything we need ask God and pray for it; instead of complaining and judging others.
Prayer
Father, I give you thanks for placing in us your desires.
Father, I thank you for provision, Thank you for your word,
Father, where I may fall weak, or get confused I ask for you to step in and help me.
Father, I know that I am not perfect but I ask for you to renew my heart and give me the right heart posture ask I make decisions in the future.
Father, allow every word that I have heard be retained right now in Jesus' name.
Amen
