THE BOOK OF JAMES

This week for the first time we are studying a book of the bible. As we are growing and wanting to understand the word of God better we can ask for wisdom and clarity before diving into the word.

James is Jesus' half brother and was the leader of the Messanic church, this church went into poverty after a famine. James was known as a peacemaker and was a protege of Jesus and his teaching as well as a reflection of the book of Proverbs also known to me as the correction scripture. James challenged us in chapter 1 with many pointers and views that will later be expanded upon throughout the other chapters.

James teaches that we are to be joyful when we are tested because testing produces perfection, perfection here is to be whole or fullness.

He speaks about asking God for wisdom, when we are asking anything of God not doing it doubting Him but having faith that it can be done. He paints a picture of the way we should really be living not looking down upon those that have less as wll as looking after the orphans and the widows.
