HAVING AN ADVOCATE

But very truly I tell you, it is for your good that I am going away. Unless I go away, the Advocate will not come to you; but if I go, I will send him to you.
John 16:7
John 14:16 this is Jesus speaking, introducing us to who would later be known to us as the Holy Spirit- And I pray the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may abide with you forever.
Growing up I always heard others in church reference the Holy Spirit or the Holy Ghost not knowing the connection. I went to an Assemblies of God church where they were very enthusiastic, meaning what I saw displayed from the Holy Spirit was running around, fluttering, shaking so I was very afraid.
After I gave my life to Christ I was told I would be in connection or partnership with the trinity. This is God as the Father, God in the Son as Jesus and God as the Helper the Holy Ghost I told my Pastor I only wanted God as the Father and the Son but I did not want the Holy Ghost. As we went further in conversation and even later on in my relationship with God I realized how gentle and loving our Father is, and that He would never impose upon us. And really wants the best for us. This was new no one in my early years had ever explained to this trinity in clarity until that day.

An advocate is a person who represents someone, to add a voice of support
Is anyone like and needs support more often than not and help
There are 2 main points I would like to emphasis on how the Holy Spirit helps and guides us:
Away from Sin- I know sometime when I do something wrong or even say something that may hurt someone the Holy Spirit tugs at my heart letting me know that what I did was wrong
To our purpose- Jesus said in Luke that the spirit was upon Him to preach to the poor, heal the broken hearted and set the captives free. From I was young I remember people being drawn to me for me to counsel and speak to them but the Holy Spirit now had to step in to continue to lead and guide me
