STAY IN YOUR LANE

But if you harbor bitter envy and selfish ambition in your hearts, do not boast about it or deny the truth. Such "wisdom" does not come from heaven but is earthly, unspiritual, demonic. For where you have envy and selfish ambition, there you find disorder and every evil practice.

James 3:14-16

Hey Sis/bro, desiring what someone else has is called coveting. Yes this is where envy, jealousy and hate starts. The thought that wow someone else made it and feeling like you did not, but we came from the same place (home, neighborhood or school) this is the start of discontent in your heart and you probably won't want to even support that person or in the background be throwing shade. The stories come up from the past you remember when the person did this, or this person didn't go to school of this so how were they able to get this job (those disses behind their backs). But the Bible says to eagerly desire the greater gifts (1 Corinthians 12:31) this is on the pretense that we are walking with Christ and doing what we are called to fulfill His work here on earth. The gifts that are being refered to are the gifts He has given to each and everyone of us in the dose or amount needed for our own journey, to help us through our walk such as the ability to to teach, heal, help, guide or speak in tongues. We have not all come here on this earth to fulfill the same purpose but each of us has been given the gift or grace for different battles, life's challenges and circumstances that we will face. Even when things seem hard God will not put more on us than we can bear ( 1 Corinthians 10:13) the God that loves us and wants the best for us will not allow us to be tempted beyond what we can bear without an escape route. Sometimes we disreagrd the warnings and escape route and continue on a road that has all the caution signs. We then carry a burden that wasn't for us too take but to learn from, to grow in but along the way we took it on and never asked our Father for help. Sometime we assume but when we can ask; God loves for us to seek Him. Seeking Him entails, looking (looking can be you reading the scriptures that speak about what you are dealing with) and asking (asking questions about your life and the things happening around you).

It is so important that we all stay in our own lanes so we don't get in an accident on the freeway right, same thing on our walk in Christ and throughout our lives. We are each called to speak a certain way for those that will listen to us, we are called to teach in a way that those who are called to us will understand, we are called to impact those that will see and follow Christ not follow you. Ohhhh chile that hit home, we have become so conditioned to FaceBook and IG likes that we forgot that it is not about us it is about the Kingdom. Yeah my tone is different because God is sturred up about us being so concerned about watching this one on TV and social media that He is trying to understad where and why our hearts are drifting so far away from Him. He wants us to stop watching and tuning into the wrong program but to listen and watch things that will help us grow and build up His kingdom, His children, His church or maybe along the way we forgot.

Sis/bro take a minute and check your heart. When sis walked in the room did you get a salty taste in your mouth? If you did, something is being sturred up in your heart and it is not from God. Your phone is ringing and the person calling, they did nothing but you just don't feel like taking the call. The enemy finds little ways for offense to creep in, for you to be hating on your brother or sister. Our eyes are the gateway to our hearts; we see a sale knowing we don't need anything, we see someone post a pic with a outfit all of a sudden you want it too. Hun you slipping into coveting and that will led to discontent and frustration. Why am I not able to look, have or be like that person? Why were they able to get the same job I applied for and I did not? What makes them better than me? Check your heart and change your channel, change your view and subscribe to things that will edify your spiritual growth not led you into destruction. How do you know you need to change your view are you looking more like the people you follow? You are buying clothes based on what you've seen? Did you even need that shirt?

Let's look at Jesus he had all the spiritual gifts and was able to heal the sick, cast out demons, make the blind see and deaf hear but when He got to His home town and was unable to perform any miracles. There were so many low-key haters, so many people that looked at Him as not being able to because He came from, saying isn't that Joseph's boy and probably thinking who does He think He is? We went to the same elementary school. Even later on Jesus had to correct His disciples because they were stepping out of their lanes and started to watching each other. But if we keep focused on our lane not stepping into someone eles's lane or watching how someone else is close to the Pastor or, minister or because they are able to park close all these things that cause offense, hurt and jealousy is why Jesus was telling His disciples "stay in your lane" stop watching Peter and Paul but fulfill your assignment. If you are walking in someone else's shoes, sitting at their desk and fulfilling their assignment who is fulfilling yours? Do you know, your who? Do you know your assignment? If this is area where you are struggling? Connect with us, find your Pastor, parent someone who can help guide you so you can know your lane. Today remember to remain in your lane and learn your assignment.
