He took the blind man by the hand and led him outside the village. When he had spit on the man's eyes and put his hands on him, Jesus asked, "Do you see anything?" Mark 8:23 NIV

This man was delivered with a touch from Jesus, a touch from God. He had people that understood what he needed and carried him to where there was help.
Do you have people around you that can recognize what you need; when you may not know what you need or even where to get it?
This guy could not see and had people bring him to be delivered.
The Merriam dictionary definition of deliverance is to be set free.
Someone can be set free can be from addiction, sexual immorality, pornography, masturbation, anger, homosexuality.
What is the scale that is on your eyes today?
True deliverance and revelation come when there is understanding, there are some areas in our lives where we need more revelation and there are others that we have been truly delivered from. When Moses went to deliver the Israelites it took 10 plagues (battles) for them to be set free. With deliverance, there are battles that are inevitable to come. The Lord sent Samuel to anoint the next king he went to the house of David and the first attack David encountered was with his very own father. Unknown to David his enemy was family members. He was out minding his own business and when he was being overlooked and undervalued. When being delivered we need to be delivered from our enemies, from ourselves mentally and emotionally.
When Jesus delivered the blind man he kindly took him by the hand and showed him the way out of his situation. It is like someone showing you a way to live debt-free but you want to keep using that credit card, not until someone shreds the card that you realize that you do not have to be a slave to the lender.
Joseph probably went through those years in prison to be delivered from the pain of his past, the thought of always having a dad that would take care of his problems. Can you think of some other stories of biblical characters that were delivered from a situation?
Mary and Joseph who had to be delivered mentally and emotionally from speculations and remarks people would have been making about them. Even when they fled it was not a pretty situation, things were not a bed of roses. They gave birth to a king in a barn with animals. Can you imagine how awful that experience must have been? Labour pain is already excruciating, added to the smell of animals and feces. They encountered major battles throughout the course of the revelation coming to its fullness.
Before the blind man got his full deliverance he was led out of the village, he had to get out, he could no longer stay in the same place, the same situation. If this guy was on drugs Jesus was telling him he cannot stay around the same friends or he will go back to the drugs, to the womanizing, the vulgarity, and clubbing. Being in the same place brings a sense of familiarity. Have you ever heard a song that took you to a moment and time? Some may be good others not so good but staying in that same place reminds you of what was, what used to be when God is ready for you to move into what is. The moment he was out of the village Jesus touched him once again and his vision was still a bit blurry, he was not fully delivered. until he had a second encounter until he heard another word until he was touched once more by Jesus. He no longer saw people walking like trees, believing and not believing or seeing and not really seeing.
There is something that happens to us when we are in the world. We are blind, lack understanding, revelation and true conviction from the Holy Spirit of the word of God and for many think what we are doing, how we are acting and things we watch and listen to are right until the scales are removed. Today I pray that each person gets a true revelation of God's truth for their life.
